WHAT DO SESSIONS LOOK LIKE IN SCHOOLS?

In schools we deliver whole class, group or 1:1 sessions usually as a series of 12 lessons.

The sessions provide CPD to the class teacher as they are fully involved in the sessions.  By the end of the course the class teacher will be equipped with the knowledge to continue to provide opportunities for children to develop their practice.

I AM A PARENT, WHAT DO THE SESSIONS LOOK LIKE?

The sessions can include the child on their own, child and their parents or a group of children. The programme will be planned to meet the needs of the children.

HOW DOES THIS APPROACH HELP MY CHILD WHO HAS ANXIETY ISSUES?

Thoughts in our mind and over thinking are often the cause of anxious feelings, by learning how the brain works and how to calm the mind, we can learn to give less attention to our thoughts. This can help the body feel less anxious. 

WILL MINDFUL BRAIN SEND A TEACHER TO ME?

Mindful Brain are based in Reading. Please contact us to find out if we can work with you.  We aim to serve all locations where possible. During COVID-19 lockdown we offer virtual sessions.

WHY OFFER SUPPORT WELLBEING?

The need to teach healthy coping strategies in early education has never been more urgent. By teaching children at a young age we are helping to develop invaluable skills for life.  Our well-being is central to our happiness, learning and future success - a key ingredient in the education of the whole-child. Fortunately, young children are natural explorers who haven't yet forgotten how to be mindful - this makes it a wonderful age to teach these skills.

MY CHILD IS ON THE WAITING LIST FOR CAHMs (Child and Adolescents Mental Health Service)?

We do not provide the same service as CAMHs. We are not a counselling or therapy service. We are an education service.  By educating children about how their brain & mind works & by teaching them mindfulness techniques, cognitive and metacognitive activities, children can learn ways to cope with the happenings of life. 

IS MINDFULNESS, COGNITIVE AND METACOGNITIVE ACTIVITIES SAFE?

HOW IS IMPACT MEASURED?

On a schools request, we can complete an assessment before and after the sessions.  Alternatively schools can use their own 'in school procedures' for tracking well being. This assessment can be used to support impact reports if schools decide to fund the programme with the Pupil Premium Grant.

CAN I JUST USE A WELLBEING APP?

Mindfulness and wellbeing APPS have lots of benefits, however they cannot beat the individualised approach you get from a 'real life' teacher.
